The Kenmore 45089 is an efficient front load washing machine with a large 3.8 cu/ ft capacity. It offers the latest cleaning technology and efficient use of water and electricity. It is very quiet in operation and has convenient features such as a self-cleaning lint filter.

The presets on the Kenmore 45089 include Delicates, Hand Wash, Sanitary, Wool and Soaking. Extra settings include Quick Wash, Heavy Duty,  and Extra Rinsing. This last setting is ideal for those with sensitive skin as the machine will remove excess detergent that could irritate the skin.

The Kenmore 45089 washing machine has a maximum spin speed of 1300 rpm. This removes almost all excess moisture from the clothes so they require less drying time. In addition to dispensers for fabric softener and bleach, the Kenmore 45089 also has dispensers for detergent and pre-wash.

Water temperature is determined by the type of cycle selected. While this may be counter-intuitive for those used to having separate water temperature controls, this method allows for an ideal water temperature depending on the type of load.

The Kenmore 45089 is very quiet but needs to be installed perfectly level in order to avoid excess vibration. As with most washing machines in its price range, the Kenmore 45089 comes with a stainless steel tub. The extra weight of this type of tub increases the energy efficiency of the machine as well as being easy to clean and more durable than enameled steel..

In Use

The Kenmore 45089 is at joy to use. It handles large loads of laundry gets the clothes super clean. Anyone who has grappled with noisy washing machines will appreciate the mere silent operation of the 45089. There is a proviso, however. Unless the machine is installed perfectly level, it will vibrate excessively. If you are not handy with tools, it will be better to have the machine installed professionally. Although on the expensive side, the money saved on water and electricity will more than make for it in the long run.

The lastest being yesterday when it managed to flood 3 rooms upstairs. The belt comes loosing letting water out all over the place. Each time we call and get it fixed only the have it happen again. The machine was not only overpriced but has since cost us $$$thousands in floor and ceiling repairs. This machine also constantly is going off balance smacking into everything in the room punching holes in the wall, denting the dryer and cabinets. I now have to sit and watch the wash for the entire cycle to make sure that it does not damage anything else. Was this review helpful to you?
